Safer shopping for children at Stretford Mall

Summer 2007 saw the re-launch of Child Safe at Stretford Mall which is a safety scheme to protect children who become separated from their parents.

The scheme aims to re-unite lost children with their families as quickly as possible, by giving parents a direct line to the centre's security team in the CCTV control room, which will immediately help in the search for the child.

Parents can also pick up free colourful children's wrist bands, to write their telephone number on, making sure that their child carries contact details at all times.

We believe that all our visitors will really benefit from this scheme which will compliment our existing child safety procedures. We attract thousands of visitors every week and that means that at busy times small children can easily get distracted and separated from their parents.

Families should look out for the Child Safe Zone's smiley orange balloon stickers on shop windows throughout Stretford Mall, which carry the centre's help line number. Any parent losing sight of their child, or any shopper finding a lost child, can call the number on the sticker to speak directly to the Security Team.
